What do leading chefs Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park, Amanda Cohen of Dirt Candy, Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Michael Lomonaco all have in common? They’ve turned to Jono Pandolfi and Jono Pandolfi Studios to create their signature dinnerware.
Join NYWCA members and guests for a very special morning as we visit Jono Pandolfi Studios for a talk by Jono himself, a tour of the workshop and a chance to shop at big discounts! Jono will share his personal story that led to a career focused on crafting one-of-a-kind handmade ceramics. We’ll hear anecdotes regarding special projects he’s executed on behalf of top toques in the business and observe specialty artisans at work. We’ll also have the opportunity to purchase seconds and overstock items that were originally created for custom clientele. At the conclusion of our visit, join us for a group photo on the studio’s rooftop featuring panoramic views of the NYC skyline! Finally, gather with members for an optional lunch at a nearby restaurant in Union City.
GETTING THERE The studio is located in Union City, NJ, and easily accessed from Manhattan by NJ Transit: NJ Transit bus #123 from Port Authority to the Palisade Avenue & 7th Street stop takes about 20 minutes and costs $3.50 one way. (The 10:30am bus arrives at 10:39.) The studio is a 2-minute walk from the bus stop. Driving is also an option, with plenty of onsite parking. The exact address is 600 Palisade Ave., #105, Union City, NJ 07087 (come through "Entrance A" past the loading dock, head to the right, and our studio door is up a few stairs).
There are many restaurants (Cuban, Turkish, Colombian, etc.) in Union City and the nearby vicinity. For those who’d like to gather for lunch immediately following the tour, we’ll be announcing the exact restaurant location in the next couple of weeks.
