NEW!  NYWCA MOVIE CLUB!

Due to the wonders of streaming, it is possible to view a film at our convenience and then gather virtually to discuss and critique it. Hopefully, after the pandemic is over we can gather in person!

There are numerous food related films to view that show diverse populations, themes and cuisines that we can feature as we move along. For now, in honor of Women's History Month, let's watch JULIE & JULIA, now streaming on Netflix and for rent on Amazon Prime.  Starring Meryl Streep, Amy Adams and Stanley Tucci, the screenplay was written by Nora Ephron (herself a foodie) and was drawn from books written by Julia Child, her nephew Alex Prud'homme and Julie Powell, a blogger who attempted to cook all  524 recipes in Child's first cookbook in one year. Both women managed to forge original and successful careers in food through their own hard work but in very different ways.

Join moderator Doris Weisberg, who along with Sara Moulton will share many stories about Julia and Julie, their relationship to each other and their stark differences.  Bring your own stories about Julia Child too.  Make sure to watch the movie before March 31st!

This event will be held virtually via Zoom.

The link will be sent to attendees within 24 hours of the event.
